Day 13: Great Friends Start to Finish!
Leaving Sean and Sarah to their new home was encouraging, as the future appears bright, trusting the Lord for community, Church, project completion and visits from family and friends. It's a great home with great potential!
The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, quaint and lovely with rolling hills for leisurely walks and a nice cove as a beautiful water feature!
Our ride to the famous Sally's Apizza in Hartford was well worth the slight detour. Coal fired pizza with great sauce, crust and toppings. Wow!
Peggy had a white sauce and mozzarella with olive and onion.
She loved everything about this pizza. Mine was an all meat called the Meatsa Pizza. Had to ask for extra coal love, which they more than delivered on!
The day was bright and sunny and the route avoided much highway traffic, which was delightful, especially around New York City. We crossed the Hudson just south of West Point on the Bear Mountain Bridge, then worked our way south.
Howie and Ricki have a beautiful lakeside home, and on an evening like tonight, with perfect weather, we enjoyed all of it.
Their recent pool addition is beautiful. You can see their electric party boat that we're about to take for a sunset loop of the lake.
A little sushi on the back patio. (The sushi restaurant was known for having an episode of the Sopranos filmed in it. Naturally, they had a roll named The Soprano).
Peggy and Ricki relaxing as we take the electric boat for a spin around the lake. Their house is in the background.
Captain Howie "working hard" at sunset! He has a monster Rock Music and Pit Master 3 day BBQ festival starting tomorrow, yet he took time to relax with us: his old roomie from college (me) and his dorm RA (Peggy).
Praying for great weather and great crowds for Howie's Festival!
Until tomorrow, be greatly blessed and keep smiling!
Looks like you’re having a marvelous time. Food and friends. What more do you need.
